Division Stickers
Division stickers are now available at the tech area each night. All divisions are required to place them on a BLACK visor on the race car as stated in the rules. Some of you are trying creative ways to git away from the black vision but it is a required rule. You will be told to change it if you want to compete for points money. This is a very important item for the sponsor of each division. Scott

More info on the April 14th race
It has become apparent from the emails and the drivers that I have talked to that a few racers are not happy about the decision to reschedule the hobby main. First let me say that in the 5 years that I have operated the race track this is the first time I have came into this situation. Let me also say that I've have never been close minded in anything that we do at the track either. Because of this I'm looking into another way to make up this race then the first decision we made. The problem is no matter what we decide to do someone will not be happy or it will not fit someones weekend plans. Please bear with me as I will have a solid answer at the drivers meeting this weekend for another solution to offer for the hobby's and jr mini's. Thanks Scott

Rescheduling of main event from April 14th
Well it is safe to say mother nature got the best of us Saturday night. Due to the fact of not running main events puts us in a situation of trying to do whats best for all the drivers involved. We have made the decision to reschedule the main events for the Jr minis and the hobby stocks. The street stocks have not been determined at this point because I must talk with the director of that class to see what will be the best plan for them as they are not a home division. I have already spoke with IMCA and because we didn't run any heat races we will have to scratch the hole event and reschedule it for another date. I will look at all the other track schedules to see the best possible date to reschedule this event. We are in the process of working out the best situation to deal with the pit pass issue to give back what each teamed has already payed for. I will post up what we came up with and I will also send out a letter as well. Please understand it is not my intention to take any ones money that didn't get to race, but it will take a little time to review the sign in sheets and figure out what is owed to who. The main events for the Jr minis make up race will be May 12Th, and the hobby make up event will be May 5Th. We will start 30 minutes early on those nights and run the make up main events first then start the regular scheduled event after that. I would also like to thank the drivers that came out and helped get the track back ready to race after the first rain, with out that we could not have been able the complete what we did. Thanks Scott

Pit Area Hours of Operation
I wanted to let everybody know what time we close the pit area after the races. The pit area will be closed and secured at 12 midnight. That is one hour after the last main event which should be more than enough time to load up and leave. Saturday night I had a problem with a team that wanted to play loud music and drink adult beverages after 12 midnight. Please be advised that this will not be tolerated and if we have this problem again you will not be allowed to attend no more events at the speedway. I fully understand the fact that you want to celebrate your race but please take it somewhere else as the surrounding home don't care about your race night celebration. Please help spread the word and we will also make this announcement at the pit meeting each week. Thanks Scott

We will need wheel packing so please help out as we can not put cars at race speed until the track is packed. Thanks and hope to see you all tomorrow, Scott

Division Sponsor Sticker
All classes must comply with the following rule regarding division sponsor stickers. Somehow they have been removed from the rules page, but I will have them re listed for all home classes. All cars must have a 5 inch black visor covering the top portion of the windshield reserved for the division sponsor sticker supplied by the track. You may not have them made by outside companies to match your colors, only stickers supplied by the track. The division sponsors are a very important part of our program and me must comply with this rule. This rule applies to Hobby, American, Mini and Jr Mini. Imca modifieds will be given a sticker to be placed to a certain area on the side of the car. Thanks Scott

3 time WoO late model champion and 5 time World 100 winner Billy Moyer is confirmed to race the Bakersfield Speedway. Billy Moyer will be racing the 2 day WAS event in Las Vegas, then make the short trip over to Bakersfield for another night of action. Moyer will be driving a car fielded by Mike Johnson. This is great news to have a famous driver as Billy Moyer to visit our track and compete. This is shaping up to be a very exciting night of racing. Scott

Pit Bike Police
Due to the negative emails I've received over the pit bike fee, I've decided to make a adjustment. I have a opening for the pit police. Your job is to police the pit bike situation. You will write and collect fine for violators breaking the rules. You will receive all fines you collect as your pay. The track keeps nothing. The more you write the more you make. If interested email name and number to scott@bakersfieldspeedway Bakersfield Speedway is a EOE

Pit Bikes
Pit bikes, golf carts or any other motorized transportation gas or electric will no longer be allowed in the pits for free. As of 2007 we will be charging a fee to bring these types of things into the pits. They have created a large amount of problems for us in the past and this is the first step to help control the problem. Thanks Scott

Pit Announcements in 2007
Starting this year all of our pit announements will be over the FM tramsmitters only. Why? two reasons. 1. It was a lot more effective for everymore to hear over a FM radio. 2. our entire PA system in the pits was stolen during the off season. I have a back up system that I will use but it is not as powerful as the main system to run all the speakers in the pits. So please be aware that we will only be using the FM transmitter which means you must have a FM radio in your pits to hear the announcements. We will inform you of the station we will broadcast on each night. Scott

New Pit Gate Entry Location
While most of you have noticed that the back lot south of the pits was for sale. That lot has now sold and it will impact us just a little bit. We will no longer be entering the pits from the back as we have done for over 60 years. The new pit entry and ticket booth is now located off of N. Chester Ext right next to the pit concession stand. We will have signs up to direct you in the right direction. I must let you know that if anyone still parks in the back lot you are parking at your own risk. I no longer have any control of that lot. With the large amount of car that we now have each race night we will also be in forcing the rule of no personal vehicles allowed in the pits before, during or after the races. Pit parking spaces have become very important so we don't need any extra vehicles in there each night. Please help us with this rule until everybody gets aware of the rule. Thanks Scott

New Clay has Arrived
We have now finished hauling in over 60 loads of new clay on the track. We have reshaped the racing surface which should make some interesting racing. We took alot of the bank out of the corners and put more bank into the straightaways. I have a little more work on shaping to do and alot of packing the new surface but it will be ready for practice days. In the next couple of weeks we have some teams coming out to give us some input on the new surface. I will let everybody know how the tests went. I want to thank Shawn for hauling in the clay and also thank Randy for helping me grade when I can't. Scott
